What you just dont get is: That you dont win a major tournament solely on luck. Im not saying that Chris is as good a poker player as Ivey, negreanu ect. But he is still a much, much better poker player than the majority. A person who know nothing of the fundamentals in poker, will never ever win a major tournament, BECAUSE YOU CANT WIN ON LUCK ALONE.

Reason why I said you win on luck alone nowadays in MAIN EVENT is because for the past 5 years, I see donks and idiots who HAVE no fundamentals in poker SUCK out with 1,2-outers and make it to final table. People like Nguyen, Ferguson, Chan, Brunson, Hellmuth, etc. have won more than 2 bracelets and win CONSISTENTLY. Anyone from past 5-6 years won 2 bracelets or more besides Joe Hachem?

An idiot or donk can win one tournament through pure luck. But professionals and people who have strong fundamentals in poker win CONSISTENTLY and win more than 2 tournaments. I've seen so many no-name donks who make it to final table by sucking out with 1-2 outers and you never hear from them again.

that doesn't make sense.. because unless you're a superstitious noob.. then everybody involved in the game has the same amount of skill. what separates players is their skill and ability in maximising their profit from any one hand- whether by bluffing, slow-playing, over-agression, value-betting etc. "getting the cards is luck, what you do with it is skill"

Come on, to win WSOP u must have plenty of luck. Just look at Jamie Gold and Chris Monemaker. Soooo many coinflip and "2 outers" they get.
In cashgame there is more skill, but in turney over 50% luck for sure.

People That defend poker are so ignorant. They Might think they are good at poker. But they will also get on tilt, Think of it as this, to gamble you must understand, no one will ever be the best, or be a "Pro". Because the odds are always going to be against any player. Its statstics. The 2 hands that are dealt might be "skill", but the flop is not a normal random variable. It is so scewed that any two cards can win. POKER IS PURE LUCK, thats why its called gambling. It is not 100% skill.

lol, it's not pure luck either. It's not pure skills but at the same time, it's not pure luck. It's more like 20% skills and 80% luck. This is why there are pros who make it to final table consistently and fat donks like moneymaker who get lucky during that year but can't win shit after 2003. Moneymaker is the reason why poker looks like a joke and gave poker a bad reputation, giving false hope and illusion that poker is easy/gambling.
